About this Event
As part of Northeastern’s Open Classroom series, Boston’s Green New Deal Coalition and the Global Center for Climate Justice are partnering with the Northeastern University Climate Justice & Sustainability Hub to bring you a conversation with key organizers and city officials working towards making Boston a Green New Deal city.
This is an opportunity for members of the public, Boston’s communities and the Northeastern community to learn more about how we build on Mayor Wu’s Green New Deal Plan for Boston. We cordially invite local community members, activists, and members of the Northeastern community to join us for this conversation and reception. Come with your questions, insights and ideas!
The Open Classroom discussion will be hybrid (in-person and also live streamed here).
If you’ll be attending in person, please be sure to register so we can get an accurate headcount for refreshments provided during the reception – thank you!
What is an Open Classroom?
The Open Classroom refers to a semester-long class that is open to the public. This fall, the theme of the class is “Environment and Justice in the Human Landscape”. They often bring in local planners, activists, and academics to share their expertise and insights on an issue. All classes are free. This GND event is November 9th’s class.
Reception:
Join us after the Open Classroom discussion for food and conversation. The reception is an opportunity for attendees to connect with government officials, coalition members, activists, and local community members.
