Our campus is preparing for a changing climate by actively ensuring our buildings and infrastructure are built to the latest standards for operational continuity and are designed for the long-term health and safety of the Northeastern Community.

Resilience is not just about ensuring our built infrastructure is prepared for a future climate. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) defines resilience as “the ability of a social or ecological system to absorb disturbances while retaining the same basic structure and ways of functioning, the capacity of self-organization, and the capacity to adapt to stress and change.” Northeastern University Planning, Real Estate, and Facilities will continue to plan and implement operational preparations for future disruptions to learning and research, and being good neighbors to our host communities in times of need.
